Genius loci 2018

Daily Si Bollé is confronted with the marine landscape of a lake changing appearance every moment of day and night.  A horizontal line divides sky from earth, mirroring both in an upside-down image, allows two suns to shine, plays with an orange haze in early morning and mixes incredible colours in a spinning palette offered to the artist. It is not easy…
"If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror be polished?” Elif Shafak, Three Daughters of Eve.

A lake is a mirror, an enormous horizontal mirror, becoming a playing ground – if weather permits – for the wind, organizing a choreography of fog and windblown flower petals, a tireless source for the artist responding to this autumnal  resurgence, just before winter occurs.

You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.” ―Pablo Neruda Spring of Autumn.
